- Students worked on the District Writing Assessment for both history and English. Tomorrow, they will finish up during the English period only.
- Today I gave out a WWI document called "Dear Mother." Please read the document and complete the following assignment:
Directions for today’s assignment or tonight’s homework: On a sheet of paper, make
a chart with the five senses listed at the top (visual, olfactory (smell), aural
(hearing), tactile (touch), and gustatory (taste). Next read through the “Dear
Mother” letter, find and cite phrases that reveal one of the five senses, and
record them on your chart.

When finished, using your own phrases or phrases from your chart, create a WWI poem of your own. Write it from the perspective of a soldier.
